The Pressure Beneath Presents

The Blade Initiative

We collect retired and gently used fencing gear from schools, clubs, and programs, then redirect it toward new fencers who need a way to begin.

Expanding Access to Fencing

Fencing can be difficult to enter—not because of lack of interest, but because equipment creates a real barrier. A mask, jacket, glove, and weapon can decide whether someone gets to try the sport at all.

The Blade Initiative exists to bridge that gap. When programs replace or retire usable gear, we help move that equipment toward beginners, youth programs, and new participants who otherwise may not have access.

What We Collect

MasksClean, usable protective masks ready for beginner instruction.
JacketsRetired fencing jackets that remain safe for training use.
GlovesPractice-ready gloves for new fencers learning the basics.
ÉpéesTraining épées and related beginner equipment when available.

For Schools & Clubs

If your program cycles out older fencing equipment, we make donation simple. No formal sorting system is required. We can coordinate pickup, confirm what is usable, and redirect gear toward new fencers.

Your retired equipment can become someone else’s first step onto the strip.
